In Chung Hsing University…
Recently, there were many accidents happening. Cecilia expressed that she saw an accident behind the “Jing Shan Ting” restaurant on Friday. Near by the restaurant, there has a gate is let the motorcycles come in and come out. The reason to cause the accident that is because has a guy when he rode a motorcycle and went out to the gate; meanwhile there has another motorcycle rode over in one’s face from the left hand site. Finally, the two motorcycles were knocked. At the time, Cecilia was just at the behind of the motorcycle, so she saw all the situations. She indicated the two motorcycles were knocked broken and there are two people injury quite serious. After few more minutes, the ambulance arrived and took them to hospital. About this thing, Cecilia to show that she was frightened as she saw this accident. Furthermore, it made her unable to sleep because the accident pictures will exits in her brain all the time and it is very painful to her. In conclusion, Cecilia emphasized that people need to care one’s own his or her life and must pay close attention to the state on the road. Especially the motorcycle, must remember cannot ride too fast.

In worldwide news…
Today is Mother’s Day, Cecilia indicated that she can not go back home and celebrate with mother, because she is studying in Taiwan and does not have the vocation can go back to home. But she misses a lot her mother. Cecilia expressed that she can not go back home on Mother’s Day in four years. She leaked out and spoke her brother has knew the Mother’s Day was coming soon, so he took mother and whole family to restaurant for meals. Finally, Cecilia has called back to home and spoke out with mother the “Happy Mother’s Day” on the telephone. Actually, Cecilia wanted to say “mother, I love u” but she felt shy. HaHa ~^___^~

In Chung Hsing dormitory news…
Cecilia expressed that people live in school dormitory must be careful and should pay attention for one’s own money. Because she has a junior lost the money about nine thousand dollars in the dormitory. Cecilia emphasized that the most better take the money and deposit in the post office. On the other hand, people should check up and remember to lock up the door of the room before going sleep.

The gathering news…
Cecilia said that she has twice gathering on Friday and Saturday respectively. So she went to the two different feature restaurants. Cecilia has showed the two restaurants website that if you have interesting. And then you can search in the network about the restaurants. Cecilia recommended that the both restaurants were not bad to run the students gathering.

Is distance learning efficient?

Nowadays, the development of the computer science and technology has offered the advantages in many aspects. Not only can send the email, read the network news or the online shopping, but today there is an important way of accepting the education, that is the distance learning. The distance learning has already become the worldwide to pay close attention to the education. The definition of distance learning means the teacher and learner are separated in space and possible time. Consequently, the distance learning integrates with the computer technology will advance the different field of technology and education development. Therefore, some benefits are provided from the distance learning.

For the people who live in the remote area and far away from the city, it will be inconvenient for them to go to school. In that case, the character of role for the distance learning will be significant at this moment in time. The students need not attend classes but they can pass through the computer to receive the education. For this reason, the distance learning is an unrestrained study space, because students do not need to have a class in the regular place and regular time. If you have a computer and network, you can use the distance learning no matter where you are. Furthermore, the students can save the school fees and time to go to school. Moreover, it will be free for students to arrange their timetable and do not need the regular time of the classes.


The distance learning is beneficial to the professors too. It is not necessary for professors to give lessons in the classroom; they can use the computer to adopt the mode of distance learning. Thus, the student’s number will expand, increase and more than the fixed students in the classroom. Furthermore, the distance learning is different from the lessons given in the classes; professors do not need to repeat the lessons many times in the computer. They only need to prepare a copy of teaching materials and then upload to the professor’s websites, so the students can study on the teacher’s websites easily. Therefore, it is a win-win situation for students and professors. Besides that, the professors will acquire the new knowledge and experience in using the computer technology.

If we consider the positions of the institution and the society, the distance learning will be helpful. Today, there is a problem exists in the traditional education; that is the student’s number increase gradually; however, the school lacks of classroom and teaching equipment. To this reason, there are a lot of people begin to accept the distance learning, because it does not need any buildings. Moreover, the society of the distance learning has displayed that it does not need to waste of time in transport and it has reduced the pollutions. In this way, not only it can reduce the transportation to obstruct on the road, but also it can reduce the harmful gas from the automobile. In addition, the new market will be opened if there are a lot of people studying by using the computer. For example, people will buy the computer so that they will be able to study in the network. Consequently, this can improve the sales volume of the computer.

In my view, I oppose to the author about the distance learning will be very convenient and save the time. I think the traditional education is a good way. The original study is face to face interaction between the teachers and the students. However, the interaction of distance learning is just sitting in front of the computer and reply by typewriting. In this way, the teachers cannot answer immediately in the computer suppose you have many questions. Furthermore, the computer can progress neither the small group discussion or group activity nor oral communication skills. Moreover, you will easily divert from the lecture when you learn in the computer, because you might surf other websites or play games. This will cause you to read the text repeatedly more than one time. Sometimes the network will be very busy; it is because there are a lot of people use the network everyday. Therefore, when you open a webpage, you should wait for several minute sometimes. Besides that, if your computer breaks down, then you cannot continue to use the computer. In addition, the distance learning does not always offer all the necessary courses online. Finally, I do not think that distance learning is convenient and save the time.

The other reasons that I disagree with the author said that no matter where you were reside, you can use the distance learning. You must have a good computer if you want to proceed the distance learning. However, there is uncertain to have the computer in every place unless you have a laptop, but there also need the network lines provided. Places where the network connection is poor or unsmooth will definitely affect the distance learning by the lagging of transmission. How if you need to go to internet café for distance learning because of lacking a personal computer? Some amount of money will need to be paid also.

In conclusion, the author points out so many persuasive reasons but I do have some distinct points. I conceive that the distance learning actually has benefits to everyone. Furthermore, it still has some problems that should be paid attention. Even though the distance learning can undoubtedly improve the development of technology, I come up some different and opposite point of views about it.

ExaMinaTion's MooD ~^____________^~

Yeah! Yeah! Yeah! All the examinations have passed in this week, so I can relax and let my mind empty for a while, haha! ~^O^~ Actually, I was very diligent to study the examinations in this time and I hoped that I could receive the good result. Tell you stealthily, I cried when I was reading the English Literature before. You will certainly think that funny or surprise why I will cry, right? haha! ~^O^~ because I feared couldn’t to finish to read and there are a lot of pages to be read, so I was very nervous and worried~ I think that not only me but also have a lot of people who read very hard too. Furthermore, I knew that there are a lot of people read very hard too in German. Nevertheless, all the examinations have been passed already. Is over! over! hahaha ~~ I always feel the examination is very tired and will consume much spirit to read the text books. Sometimes, I feel I will suffer from the melancholia and insomnia. This will cause my mood to be very instable. Haiz~~ but I believe that there are a lot of people have the same problem like me. Although, we begin the examinations since the primary school, I do not think the examinations already immune for me, I think still has pressure in the examinations. Actually, I think that pressure is good, because it will make us advancement. When the examination week, I still working the same as usual, this makes me very tired. Furthermore, there are other colleagues will call you and help them to go to work their shift when in the examination week. If you can to go to work that you can make more money. Haha~ Finally, I think that in the examination should study in hard and don’t do too much works. ~~*^O^*~~

First, Chung Hsing University News…
The next week is school midterm exam. So we can see there are a lot of people diligent in learning and preparing for the midterm exam recently. Cecilia to express that she has three subjects will exam on the next week and the last subject on 21 April. Those are Journalistic English, Listening and Speaking, Linguistics and English Literature separately. She said that the Japanese had already exam on the Tuesday, but the grade that she thought was not satisfied. So she hopes the exam for the next week will take a good result. Lastly, she blesses all her friends will all pass in the midterm exam.

In Chia Yi University…
There are two female students died from A Li Shan on the last Wednesday. The report indicates that there are four female students from Chia Yi University rode the motorcycle went to the A Li Shan with a group. There are four people with two motorcycles. When they should go down the hill while riding the motorcycle, the road surface was due to very slippery and to cause a motorcycle slipped because of carelessness in the place that turns. At this time, there was a small truck had come in front of the motorcycle and collided with the motorcycle. In the result, the two girl students were flown out and pressed below by the small truck. This is a very terrible scene.
Another report from Chia Yi University that the school dean after drinking the beers and while he drove the car back to the home, he carelessness and bumped against the two female students on the road when they were biking the bicycle back to the home. Finally, the two students were guiltless and pass away.
Cecilia reminds everyone must carefully everything no matter you ride the motorcycle or ride a bicycle. ~Because the life is very valuable.~

First, the activity of the Malaysia students' association news…
The president, Xu Jin Liang indicated that who decided cancel the journey to A Li Shan. He expressed that because there is few number of participates in this journey. Xu Jin Liang to explain that originally estimate there are 40 people will participate in the journey, but only 20 people participated in finally. In addition, the tour bus will change from a big bus to a small bus; it will make the fare be raise.

In Chung Hsing University news…
A professor, Wang Qing Guang from Chung Hsing University was tumbled with the lift yesterday. He expressed that because he wanted to take the lift and participate in seminar on the 13th floor, but the lift carriage was suddenly tumbled when the lift door was opened. He said that he was the first person walked out to the lift door, but he has not found the lift there are the chinks among the floor and stepped on finally. Due to the professor did not step on steadily, so he fell with the lift carriage top from the 13th floor tumbled to the 10th floor. As a result, his seven ribs were broken, so he is staying in the hospital for observing and receive the treatment now. There is no the life dangerous. On the other hand, the Chung Hsing University point out that the lift was repaired on the last Friday, but did not know why the lift breakdown again.

News of national universities…
The next week is school spring holidays, Cecilia will go to Xin Zhu and rendezvous with her boyfriend on the next Tuesday. Two of both are planning that only one day can go out to play and other days will study to prepare for the midterm examination in the library.

The gathering news…

The yesterday was the Malaysia students of the sophomore were gathering. They have a dinner in a restaurant which is called “Black Hold”. They have not seen for a long time, so just determine to have a meal and chat together. They enjoy the food very much and have say and smile. ~~*^O^*~~

The Problems of the classes

In “College Lectures: Is Anybody Listening?” David Daniels argues that there are a lot of problems existing in the “lecture system”. According to Daniels, “teachers are not doing a good job of teaching, and students are not doing a good job of learning.” This subject is paid close attention recently. Daniels offers an example of Mary. Mary saw there were hundreds or more students registered in the lecture course; however, the professor never takes attendance. It is an attitude which is not fidelity from professors. David Daniels claims that “listening intelligently is a hard work”. Also, there is a problem from the lectures, especially, “paying attention is very difficult.” Students are always daydreaming, nodding off or doodling in their notebooks that are because some professors always speak few words in the class. On the other hand, he says, “Attending lectures is a passive learning way.” It is because of the lecture system seldom forms interaction between teachers and students. Therefore, except for the students should be paying attention to speaker’s lecture and hardworking in taking their notes, they also have to interact with their speaker. Finally, the smaller classes’ education will immensely improve the students’ intellectual, listening and reading skills. Eventually, I think learning in a large class may create a lot of problems than in a small group classes.

In my opinion, the large lecture classes will be easier for students who can’t concentrate in the class. I had an experience of learning in the large lecture class. Students always like to talk during class session; especially students who sit at the back part of the classroom. Furthermore, there are some students who like to stand up frequently and go to the toilet all the time. The behavior of these students creating interruption and noise is obviously seen in a large lecture classes. It will influence other people and they will not be unable to pay attention in the class. In the bargain, some professors are in low volume without using the microphone. If students can’t hear clearly or do not understand what the professor what is talking about, probably they will begin to doze off, speaking to their friends and also do not concentrate in the lecture.

The education of the large lecture classes seldom produces interaction between students and professors. Instance of the professors are just teaching all the time and students are always studying for their own. This is not achieved the purpose of studying. Practically, in a classroom, the teacher and students must have interaction and communication. Teachers should always ask “Are there any questions?” to their students when teachers teach to a certain paragraph. Furthermore, teachers will often bring up some questions and give their students some opportunities to think and answer the questions. Moreover, students can also solve the problems or find out some questions. If they think there is a problem, they will discuss with their teachers or classmates. Lastly, I think the proper interaction can improve the students’ knowledge and studying level.

In the large lecture classes, professors are usually not really caring to every student about their studying situation. We know that there are some students’ absorbability is faster; however, there are some students who are slower. Nevertheless, the professors normally just follow their teaching schedule to teach students. Therefore, every student must pay attention in the lecture class and always to take notes. After going home, students have to review and preview the parts that the professor has taught or not yet. If there are any questions they do not understand, students can mark down and ask their professor next time. Lastly, I think the students must act actively in their study and possibly interact more with their professors.

In conclusion, the large lecture classes indeed a lot of problems. It is because students will easily fall asleep in the classes, make students easy distract from the noise when some students are feel free to speak or walk in the classroom. Therefore, I prefer the smaller discussion classes to the large lecture classes. I think because of the small classes will be easy to pay attention to what the professors’ speaking and listening can hear clearly. Furthermore, if the students have any questions, they can ask their questions directly to the professors face to face. Today, there are many professors of different countries begin to assume the small discussion classes for their teaching. I hope this can keep continue.
